Auf welche Reise hat Sie dieser Koffer mitgenommen? Was werden Sie darin lassen, was werden Sie versuchen, loszuwerden? Wen werden Sie und Ihr Koffer unterwegs treffen, und wie wird diese Begegnung Ihr Leben verändern? Und die wichtigste Frage: Ist Umziehen etwas Tragisches oder einfach ein Schritt in ein neues Leben? Ist Umziehen notwendig für die Entwicklung eines Menschen oder einfach nur ein Teil des Lebens?
Die Performance „Suitcases” ist eine Sammlung kurzer Zirkusgeschichten, die aus mehreren Workshops hervorgegangen sind.
Vier Künstlerinnen und Künstler analysieren mit Hilfe von Zeitgenössischen Zirkus – Akrobatik, Jonglage, Diabolo und Modern Dance – die Situationen der letzten zwei Jahre ihres Lebens und stellen die Frage: „Was werde ich in meinem Koffer finden, und wird es mir helfen, meine Reise in eine neue Welt fortzusetzen, oder wird es mich in Erwartung erstarren lassen?”

Upsala Circus – a contemporary circus open to life. We have been active in Zeitz since 2022, creating a space for freedom, creativity, and encounters. Children, young people, and professional artists work together to develop contemporary circus, create their own performances, and participate in cultural exchanges and international tours. We believe that circus, culture, and education are powerful tools to address social challenges, develop personal potential, and strengthen community dialogue. Über die Location
The event will take place at the Capitol Theater in Zeitz – a small town in Saxony-Anhalt with a rich history and a growing youth cultural scene. Originally built as a cinema, the theater has been a cultural landmark of the city for over 90 years – and will stage contemporary circus for the first time in its history.
