Sisus: Memoirs of Mud
“I was forgiven and forgotten, in this world so rotten, dropping like a hot potato, don’t call me a tomato.” Memoirs of Mud is a comedic yet touching tale of two ladies exploring their place in this sanitised but natural world. Finding liberations in both raw and decorated expression they throw ideas wildly out of proportion to create absurd depictions of our recognisable every day reality. Memoirs of Mud is a comedic yet touching tale of two ladies exploring their place in this sanitised but natural world. Finding liberations in both raw and decorated expression they throw ideas wildly out of proportion to create absurd depictions of our recognisable every day reality. It is provocative, playful, bold and beautiful, a journey full of dirt, glitter personified veg, ginger antlers and potato DJ’s. Showing life in all its different colours from vibrancy to varying shades of darkness it speaks of womanhood, our relationship with our world and with one another.

About the Location

For decades, dreams were captured on celluloid on the site of the UFA-Film copying works in the south of Berlin. Shortly before the planned demolition of the buildings, "The Second Life of ufa" began in 1979 in the International Cultural Center ufaFabrik Berlin, a living and working project that is still unique in Europe today. On the 18,566 square meter site, about 30 residents and over 200 employees work tirelessly to combine various social areas such as living, working, cultural events, creativity and social life in a meaningful way. New and unusual ideas have since been implemented: ecological pilot projects and energetic building renovation, innovative, participatory cultural concepts, social networks for people from 0 - 99, family and neighborhood.
