p.a.K.T. -Jana Korb & Ella von der Haide : W.A.L.D. - Performative Walk

Together with trees, we form a performative collective and invite them to work with us as choreographers and performers. Alongside the trees, we make multispecies communication accessible to the audience: a performative walk in five acts – featuring the choir of the forest, a duet between an aerial artist and a tree, danced more-than-human solos, and group choreographies. The human performers appear small among the tall trees, yet they seem sheltered and protected. We perceive both the strength and the fragility of these great plants. The audience is invited to activate their own senses and participate in the collective dance, gradually understanding the language of the trees more fluently.
Exclusion of liability Participation in all performative walks is at your own risk. The organizers and artists exclude the assumption of liability for damages of any kind that are not based on grossly negligent misconduct on the part of the organizers, artists and their employees. This applies to personal injury, damage to animals and damage to property, in particular for the consequences of accidents and for lost items (e.g. rucksack, cell phone, items of clothing, etc.). The organizers and artists assume that there are no health concerns against participation in the walks. By registering or purchasing a ticket, participants make a binding declaration that there are no health risks. Participants will not assert any claims against the organizers and artists for damages and injuries of any kind that may arise from participation in the event. This applies to personal injury, damage to animals and property, and in particular to the consequences of accidents. No liability is accepted for any mental, physical or material damage. It is generally recommended that participants take out accident and liability insurance.

About the Company
Ella von der Haide and Jana Korb have been working on and off since 1991 as p.a.K.T. (peripher absurdes Kunst Tribunal), artistically addressing queer-feminist themes. Nothing is more queer-feminist than envisioning the circus of the future together with plants.
Since 2021, they have been developing their post-anthropocentric circus: with Cirque du Soil, they explore microorganisms and how to save the world with them and their queer love. W.A.L.D. is their second project in this series.

About the Location
At the edge of Nordhausen, Villa and Park Hohenrode present a site of exceptional artistic design. Today, Hohenrode Park is the largest historical park in Nordhausen. Ten hectares of park with villa, outbuildings and pavilion form an outstanding artistic testimony to the 19th century. The garden artist Heinrich Siesmayer and the architect Ludwig Bohnstedt were among the greats of their time. Carl and Fritz Kneiff shaped the park through their passion for collecting rare trees and shrubs. The extremely valuable ensemble has been threatened with decay since the fall of communism. The Förderverein Park Hohenrode e.V. aims to save and revive this cultural asset.
