Hippana.Maleta & Liza van Brakel: Inside Juggling

A show like a tracking shot: fast-paced, funny and virtuoso. A performer juggles between choreography, stage and her own image in search of order in the chaos of images. Entranced by her own diversity, she finds stability in disbalance and calm in risk. Together with Hippana.Maleta, Liza van Brakel dares to change perspective: she takes the audience into the intimate space of the solo and humorously thematises the price and poetry of restless adventurousness and contradictory dreams. Using a camera, object manipulation and live projection, she twists her and our perceptions of reality.

About the Location

Founded in 1920, the studiobühneköln is the oldest existing German university theater. Since the late 1960s, entire cohorts of students have been searching for and researching the theoretical and practical possibilities of artistic work at the university. Through this process, the studiobühneköln's field of activity expanded beyond the medium of theater to a production facility for theater and film, which established itself within the university and opened up into the city as a well-known experimental theater house. studiobühneköln already co-produced Milk and Ashes (2018) and supported Tunnel (2019) and Runners (2021).
