“How A Spiral Works” is a quiet revolution—full of grace, grit, and fierce gentleness. With a fine
choreography, two artists circle around each other - inseparable, symbiotic, intimate.

“How A Spiral Works” is a powerful and hypnotic exploration of care under pressure. How do we
take care of ourselves—and each other—when everything around us spins out of control? What
does compassion look like at great heights, in the middle of a storm, or when pain creeps into
the body?
In this intimate duet, one dancer, one aerialist, and one rope are bound together in an ever-
evolving relationship. Their movements circle each other in a delicate choreography of trust,
resistance, and release. They hang, spin, support, and respond—tethered to one another in a
physical and emotional spiral.
Blending hair hanging, aerial rope, contemporary dance, and hauntingly reimagined Baltic folk
music, “How A Spiral Works” is a poetic act of care and resistance.
About the Company
Art For Rainy Days is a performance collective made up of a circus artist Izabelė Kuzelytė, a dancer Alise Bokaldere and a dramaturg Jason Dupree. Combining perceptions, the aim is simple: to be inspired by each other’s artistic standpoints and to create by melting brains. Art For Rainy Days is a slow breakfast, scribbles in notebook, a daydream. Artwork inspired by tasks and projects taken up on unproductive days to relax, breathe and find time for yourself.
