Claude Bérat: Kunst zwischen Körper und Zirkus – Ausstellungseröffnung Live vom Trapez mit Luftartistin Jana Korb
The exhibition brings together visual art, artistry, and contemporary circus. Claude Bérat presents works from various creative phases that thematically explore the body, movement, and the world of the circus. Together with aerialist Jana Korb, she will open the exhibition as part of the ZEIT FÜR ZIRKUS festival, and her artworks will be staged live on the trapeze at the vernissage. Both artists have already collaborated several times as part of Circus Charivari and are now continuing to develop this exciting dialogue between painting and artistry. Claude Bérat's paintings, inspired by the body and the circus, will serve as inspiration for aerial artist Jana Korb's artistic expressions on the opening night. The exhibition can be seen on November 15 and 16, 2025, at the CircusMühle Kelbra. Translated with DeepL.com (free version)

About the Company

Claude Bérat, born in France in 1943 and living in Berlin since 1969, is a versatile artist who has repeatedly experimented with new forms of expression in her work. Her artistic spectrum ranges from painting, collages, and screen printing to photography and clay works. Collage and painting in particular characterize her work—materials are combined, alienated, and transformed into new structures. Claude Bérat has been living with Huntington's disease for 15 years. Nevertheless, she continues to work in her Berlin studio, creating photographs, drawings, and collages—an impressive testament to her perseverance and unbroken passion for art.
