‘Zu Tisch’ (At the Table) Circus theatre for all generations The new production by Circus Schatzinsel, with its multi-generational project, deals with the potential for conflict that arises when different generations come together. An extended family with all its idiosyncrasies arrives to celebrate a joint festival. This brings with it vanity, ignorance and incomprehension on the one hand, and love, security and compassion on the other. These are explored through dance, artistry and theatre, stories are told, the idiosyncrasies of individual performers become apparent, subliminal controversies are played out and the table is lavishly set. A play by 12 performers between the ages of 25 and 85 turns out to be a reflection of our society with all its warmth and coldness.
About the Company
What is and was family to me? There were bright and cheerful eyes and stories, but some eyes also immediately filled with tears and we cried and comforted each other. Family is what sustains us and what lets us down, what makes us happy and angry, what gives us stability and security, but can also hurt us deeply. In the end, we are all mortal. Even though the elderly usually go first, it suddenly becomes clear that it affects us all and no one knows when. We are all only guests here on this wonderful planet for a certain amount of time, then everything turns white and to dust... And in the moments when we feel this most strongly, we are often most alive and most intimate with each other! Actors: Anne Leipert, Astrid Kenneweg, Beate Müller, Christina Wintz, Christine Kölbel, Edgar Kenneweg, Eva Besler, Gefion Reichert, Jasper V. Barckhausen, Patricia v.
