"Change of scenery" is an exclusive circus double evening. The two performances are based on literary works by very different authors. But the question of change, of breaking out of existing patterns - of a change of scenery - unites them and creates a double evening that is both humorous and poetic.
"The Great Kafka Circus" takes you into the world of Franz Kafka and his idea of circus using various stories, humor and poetry. In the puppet theater performance, players and characters act together in an entertaining and interactive circus show. Surreal, mysterious and humorous, it provides insights into the world of the circus.
In "Time Window", a woman uses aerial acrobatics and acting to tell of her lonely everyday life at home, the changes there that she has to fight against, and her longing for the world outside her room. Audio recordings of women are combined with biographical elements from the American writer Charlotte Perkins Gilmans (1860-1935) and her story "The Yellow Wallpaper".
About the Company
The Loneflight Theater was founded in Darmstadt (Hesse) in 2020 by the Brazilian performer and aerial artist Gabriela Schwab Veloso after 20 years of professional activity, when she took a new direction for her career and placed theater in public spaces at the center of her work. The company combines acting, movement and aerial acrobatics and thus develops its own artistic language.

About the Location
The Bessunger Knabenschule Darmstadt cultural center is a non-profit organization and sees itself as a socio-cultural center in the district, the city and the region. An interesting and exciting cultural program from the areas of rock, jazz, world music, cabaret and theater runs in the former gymnasium at weekends. The cultural center is the training facility and home base of BUZZ-Darmstadt.
