antagon theaterAKTion: caMARá
by Benedikt Müller and Lucas Tanajura
A performance by two men who, with theater, dance, acrobatics, instrumental music and song, embark on an intimate journey that once began with the following question:
What happens when any certainties we have are lost and we begin to plunge into the unknown?
A risk, but also an opportunity in these tumultuous times that begins with our vulnerability, addresses our personal limits and then happens when all masks fall.
A moment of nakedness, of leaping, of new beginnings with an open outcome.
Inspired by German, Brazilian and Latin American folk songs, two people see and understand their relationship with the nature of things, showing the connection and the ongoing struggle for each other. As if caught on the high seas, the boundaries between their two countries of origin, their cultures so different, with all that life and death, companionship and love, man and nature mean to you, become blurred. Opposites become meaningless and it is now about coming together and becoming one, carried by the wind, making music with the stars and dancing with the waves.
...and yet the question of the stone in his hand remains.

About the Company

antagon theatreAKTion is a multinational theatre ensemble based in Frankfurt am Main, founded in 1990 by Bernhard Bub as a political action theatre. In times of individualism and disorientation, antagon uses physical theatre, live music and dance to create impressive emotional images that touch people in their concrete realities of life and repeatedly raise the question: How could it be different? The unique, multi-faceted visual language of the plays usually gets by without words and can be understood all over the world. At the centre of this is always the claim to detach theatre from intellectual-elitist contexts and to revive it as a place of dialogue accessible to all. In this way, audience and performers meet face to face and the theatre becomes a shared experience.
